This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) outlines the information we collect when you access and use our website, products and services, how and why personal information is collected, how we protect and use it, and when and with whom we share it. When you are no longer a Dayforward customer, we will continue to use and disclose your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy does not apply to any third parties or any website that might be linked to our Online Services or products, including website and social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google, YouTube, Snapchat, Quora, Reddit, TikTok, LinkedIn or Pinterest (“Linked Sites”). We are not responsible for the privacy practices, policies, or content of any Linked Sites, even if you link to them from our Online Services or communications. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any Linked Sites. We have no control over the collection or use of information, including Personal Information, on any Linked Site. We encourage you to read and understand the privacy practices of any Linked Sites that you visit.

We do not solicit or intend to solicit, and our products are not available for purchase by citizens or residents of countries outside the United States and such individuals should not use our website or provide us with their Personal Information. Dayforward and our service providers collect information about you from a variety of sources, including information that personally identifies you or makes you identifiable, such as name, email address, phone number or credit card number (“Personal Information” and collectively “Information”).
The Information we collect or may collect includes:
- Personal identifiers, such as name, address, email address and telephone number
- Demographic information, such as date of birth, and including characteristics of protected classifications under state and federal law, such as gender and nationality
- Financial information, such as credit card numbers
- Health and health insurance information, such as health insurance identification numbers
- Device and online identifiers and related information, such as telephone number and email address
- Internet, application and network activity, such as cookie IDs and browser visits

We also collect Information about you from other sources including other online services, healthcare providers, other insurance companies and insurance industry data sources, public records, consumer reporting agencies, our business partners and service providers. Under certain circumstances, we permit unaffiliated parties to collect information on our website for their own business purposes using cookies, web beacons, iframes and similar technologies. We may combine any of the Information, including Personal Information, collected about you for any of the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Any Information, including Personal Information, that you post (1) to the public-facing aspects of our Online Services, such as a product review, testimonial, or comment, (2) to social media platforms such as Facebook, or (3) using a “share” or “share this” feature or the like will be seen, collected, and used by anyone who has access thereto, including, without limitation, your user/screen name. You are responsible for all actions resulting from any Information, including Personal Information, which you post via our Online Services or social media platforms. Please remember that any Personal Information you share or otherwise post may become public information, and Dayforward cannot control and is not responsible for the results of such postings. Consistent with our website Terms of Use, we may use any information you post to these public venues for Dayforward’s commercial marketing purposes.
Information collected automatically: Our Online Services, email messages, and advertisements use various tracking technologies that may include cookies, log file information, web beacons, location data, online analytics (collectively, “Tracking Tools”) to automatically collect Information from you. We, along with our third-party service providers, use Tracking Tools for a variety of purposes, including to enhance your (and other users’) online experience and our product offerings, for analytics purposes, and for our marketing purposes. Please see below for more information regarding the Tracking Tools that we may use.
- Cookies: We and our service providers use cookies, which are small files that are stored on your computer and allow websites to remember information about you. We use cookies to monitor how our Online Services are used, for marketing purposes, and to help personalize and improve our Online Services. If you do not accept cookies or you disable them, you may not be able to use some or all of the portions and features, or functionality, of our Online Services.
- Log file information: Log file information is automatically reported by your browser or mobile device each time you access our Online Services. This information may include your IP address, device and software characteristics (such as type and operating system), browser type, Internet service provider, URLs, referring/exit pages, click data, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information.
- Web beacons: When you use our Online Services, we and our service providers employ web beacons (also known as clear gifs or action tags) which are used to track your online usage patterns. In addition, we may also use clear gifs in HTML-based emails sent to our users to track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. This information facilitates more accurate reporting and improvement of our Online Services.

- Third party ad serving companies: We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Online Services. Such advertising companies may also separately use Tracking Tools, including cookies, in the course of delivering targeted advertisements to our Online Services.
- Currently, our systems do not recognize browser “do-not-track” requests.
Information we receive from third parties: We may receive Information, including Personal Information, about you from third parties, such as our business partners and service providers, to correct or supplement our records, improve the quality or personalization of our services, to assess eligibility for or products and services, and marketing to you and prevent or detect fraud. We may also collect Information, including Personal Information, from commercially or publicly available sources, consumer or other reporting agencies and medical or health care providers.
3. How we use your information.
Dayforward uses your Information to provide you products and services, including Online Services, or to help personalize our services and marketing to you. We also use your Information to support our business functions, such as fraud prevention and complying with legal obligations. Some examples include:
- Processing applications, orders, renewals, and payments
- Creating and maintaining your accounts
- Conducting marketing, personalization and third-party advertising
- Protecting the security and integrity of our, and our business partners’ and service providers’, websites mobile services, business and to enforce our Terms of Use
- Preventing or detecting fraud or potentially illegal activities and complying with applicable laws and regulations
- Providing customer service or technical support, responding to inquiries, comments or postings or otherwise communicating with you
- Updating our operational and technical functionality
- Conducting business analysis, research or development and identifying areas for operational improvement
We may combine all the Information, including Personal Information, we collect or receive about you from third party sources for any of the foregoing purposes.
Our service providers may use your Information, including Personal Information, collected from Tracking Tools to enhance your online experience and our product and service offerings.
4. How we share your information.
All Information, including Personal Information, that we collect and share has been shared for a business purpose and we may sell your Personal Information to third parties, subject to your right to opt out of those sales. (We do allow certain third-party partners and providers to collect information about consumers directly through our services for purposes of analyzing and optimizing our services and ads, providing content and ads that are more relevant, measuring statistics and the success of ad campaigns, and detecting and reporting fraud.) Dayforward shares and discloses your Information, including Personal Information, under the following circumstances:
- Business partners/service providers: We share your Information with service providers that help with our business activities, including development, maintenance, and support of our Online Services, order fulfillment, processing credit card payments, delivering packages, marketing research and analysis, communications, and customer service. We share your Information with business partners/service providers in connection with our Online Services, product sales and fulfillment, and for marketing purposes. We require our business partners and service providers to keep your Personal Information secure.
- Affiliates: We share your Personal Information with our affiliated entities, including information about your transactions and experiences with us. Our affiliates include companies that are related by common ownership or control, and can include financial and non-financial companies, including Commercial Travelers Life Insurance Company and companies with the “Dayforward” brand.
- Everyday business purposes: All financial companies need to share customers’ Information, including Personal Information, to run their everyday business. We may share your Information with non-affiliated parties for our everyday business purposes and as permitted by law, including processing transactions, maintaining accounts, and reporting to consumer reporting agencies.
- Legal requirements and protection: We may share your Information, including Personal Information, in special circumstances or when we believe sharing will help to protect the safety, security, property or rights of Dayforward, our business partners and service providers, our customers, our employees or other persons, including:
- to comply with law or regulation, a court order, or other legal process, or in connection with a legal or regulatory investigation or a request for cooperation by a government entity
- to protect against or detect fraud or for other risk management purposes
- to enforce our Terms of Use and any other applicable terms, conditions and other agreements
- Business transfers: We may share your Information, including Personal Information, in connection with a proposed or actual corporate transaction (such as a merger, financing, acquisition or dissolution) or proceeding involving the sale, transfer, divestiture, or disclosure of all or a portion of Dayforward’s business or assets. In the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, your Information may also be transferred as a business asset of Dayforward, provided that the acquirer will assume the rights and obligations with respect to your Information, including Personal Information, as described in this Privacy Policy.
- Advertising related activities: We may share aggregated or pseudonymous information (pseudonymous information includes things like: device identifier, type of device, IP addresses, cookies and other information associated with your browsing and app usage) with other companies, such as publishers, advertisers, measurement analytics providers, and others. We also allow companies that show advertisements on our webpage or our apps to collect information from your browsers or devices via the use of cookies or other technologies. Other companies' use of cookies and other data collection technologies are subject to their own privacy policies, not this one. Like many companies, we may allow cookie matching with select partners.
- With your consent: In circumstances other than those described above, we will ask for your affirmative consent before we share your Personal Information with a third party.
- No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
5. What your choices are.
Marketing preferences: We may send marketing communications to you using the following standards:
- We use an opt-out standard for sharing Personal Information with third parties for their use in direct marketing of their products, such as sending you promotions for their products.
- We use an opt-out standard for marketing or promotional email. Opt-out means we may contact you, but will stop upon your request. Follow the unsubscribe link in any of our marketing emails. It may take up to 10 days to process your marketing email opt-out request.
Please know that, even if you opted out of receiving marketing communications from us, we may still contact you for transactional or informational purposes. Some examples are contacts for customer service, product information, service or reminder notices. We may also need to contact you with questions or information regarding your purchased products or services.
How to access and update your information: We provide you with the opportunity to update and/or delete certain Personal Information and to opt-out of having your Personal Information disclosed for certain purposes. For example, you may:
- Correct or update your Personal Information;
- Request that we do not share your Personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Certain functionality to access and update your Personal Information may be available through your online account.
Because we plan our communications in advance, it may take several weeks for your request to become effective. If you continue to receive our communications after providing an opt-out request or communication preference, please let us know so that we can investigate the situation. We will, however, continue to send transaction/service-based communications if you place an order, request customer support, submit a claim, or make similar requests.
Please be aware that if you do not allow us to collect and use your Personal Information, we may not be able to deliver certain products, promotions, and offerings to you.
Opt-out from data collection tools: You may be able to opt-out or turn off (by disabling cookies in your web browser) the automatic collection of some Personal Information by referring to your web browser’s or mobile device’s options or settings menu. However, doing so may disable many of the portions and features, or functionality, of our Online Services. - Third party ad serving companies. We support the self-regulatory principles for online behavioral advertising (“Principles”) published by the Digital Advertising Alliance (“DAA”). This means that we allow you to exercise choice regarding the collection of information about your online activities over time and across third-party websites for online interest-based advertising purposes. More information about these Principles can be found at http://www.aboutads.info. If you want to opt out of receiving online interest-based advertisements on your internet browser from advertisers and third parties that participate in the DAA program and perform advertising-related services for us and our partners, please follow the instructions at http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/ to place an opt-out cookie on your device indicating that you do not want to receive interest-based advertisements. Opt-out cookies only work on the internet browser and device they are downloaded onto. Please note that when you opt out of receiving interest-based advertisements, this does not mean you will no longer see advertisements from us or on our Online Services. It means that the online ads that you do see from DAA program participants should not be based on your interests. We are not responsible for the effectiveness of, or compliance with, any third-parties’ opt-out options or programs or the accuracy of their statements regarding their programs. In addition, third parties may still use cookies to collect information about your use of our Online Services, including for analytics and fraud prevention as well as any other purpose permitted under the DAA’s Principles.
6. How we secure your information.
We seek to keep your Personal Information secure and implement reasonable safeguards to help us protect such information from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure. However, no method of electronically transmitting or storing data is ever completely secure, and therefore, neither we nor our service providers that provide us and you with certain Online Services such as the Website chat feature can guarantee that your Personal Information will never be accessed, used, or disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy. Therefore, we recommend that you not provide sensitive Personal Information to us through this chat service.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account login information. Also, you should always safeguard and never provide others with your Personal Information that may be used to authenticate who you are. You also should safeguard, and never provide others with access to, your computer, mobile device or email.
“Phishing” is a scam designed to intercept and steal your Personal Information. If you receive an email that looks like it is from us asking you for your Personal Information, please notify our customer experience team a help@dayforward.com.
7. Children's privacy.
We do not knowingly solicit or collect Personal Information online directly from, nor is our website or other Online Services directed to, children under the age of 13. We may update this Privacy policy from time to time effective upon posting the revised Privacy Policy, along with the date on which it was most recently updated, on our Online Services. Please check our Privacy Policy periodically to see if it has been updated. If a change to this Privacy Policy materially affects the use or disclosure of your Personal Information, we will notify you by placing a more prominent notice on our home page. By continuing to use our Online Services, order products, provide us information, or otherwise interact with us thereafter, you agree to accept such changes to this Privacy Policy.
